I do a lot of riding, from road riding to mountain biking to cyclocross and back. This bike has got to be the easiest bike I've ever ridden. You just have to remember its purpose, its not made to climb the Alps, it's not made to sprint you across a finish line. No quite simply it's a cruiser for those of us who like a little euro-flavor for a cruiser as opposed to the ol schwinn, or typical beach cruiser. After riding it for about a month, I feel like I've actually gotten stronger since you use different muscle on it that say a race bike. It's a gorgeous bike and every single time I ride it, it turns heads and quickly becomes a topic for conversation, I've dropped it and it didn't even scratch, the fenders and skirt guards are a little flimsy at first, but once they find they're place, they seem to stay, mine kept falling off at first..anyhow yeah, great bike...perfect for runs to coffee shop, jaunts around the park or lake...a little hard to manuever through an apartment though, its a big bike!!
The Electra Amsterdam is the perfect summertime accessory. I like to put on a cute pair of shorts and some flip-flops, then head off to the farmer's market. I feel just like one of The Sartorialist's fashionable girls-on-bikes. I also commute once a week to work with this bike for 6 miles and the ride couldn't be easier. I like to think I am keeping fit by adding a day of bicycle commuting, but I hardly feel like I'm putting any effort into pedaling this bike. There really isn't a bad thing I can say about my new Electra Amsterdam.
