Comments:

I just picked this bike up as a closeout. All I can say right now is wow, what a great bike. Yeah the seat is hard but it's because it is designed to be used with bike shorts. So pick up a pair of those when you buy this bike. It's fast considering it's not really a road bike. I can keep up with many of the road bikers out there where I couldn't on the 7000 I had before. It's durable enough to take it on some of the trails. I am not a hardcore mountain biker or down hiller so can't speak to those uses. So far I am highly impressed. Great bike for the money. I am glad I upgraded bikes. It certainly is a great all around bike. If you want to go REALLY fast buy a road bike. If you want to go down some nasty hills buy a mountain bike. If you want to do some of both and not be at the competition level, I think this one does it. I expected a little better stopping power with the disc brakes but it might just be my expectation was a little high never having had disc brakes before.

I am getting into triathlons in the near future and I wanted a bike that I can be competitive in racing but also want to be able to go on trails for recreational purposes. This bike is very well with both aspects. Cannot wait to take this bike out for a real race!

        Comments:

I purchased this bike as an alternative to my Trek Madone road bike primarily for riding the many trails at the beach where I live. I have owned several Treks and Trek is a great product. This bike is no exception and handles the light trails in my area with ease. On the road where we go on and off it is fast and on the trails it rides great. The shocks help my lower back which has some disc issues and the matte green color gets many positive comments. The seat is comfortable as I ride lots of miles and my butt adjusted to it very well.

First bike purchase in 25 years for myself. Kept my old Bianchi Osprey Mtn. bike in shape over that time but due to age and comfort, needed to finally upgrade. This Trek is very comfortable for my 6'2" frame. Is nimble enough on asphalt as dirt roads. I look forward to many good miles riding trails and roads with this model.

            Comments:

I ride on city streets, paved paths but also on cross country paths and horse trails. This bike can do it all. I can keep up with city traffic for a distance but then climb over small rocks, logs and dirt trails chewed up by horses. I have taken it through grass over the axles and the DS handles it no problem. Awesome bike.

            Comments:

I ride 3 times a week, getting in 50 miles or more. I used to be exclusively a mountain biker, but 2 things occred to me. At my age I wouldn't tackle the tough terrain anymore, and I wanted to connect trails via country roads (and I hated the road chatter). This bike fit the bill Perfectly!! It cruises over rocks and roots when needed, but it's very fast on the road thanks to the 700cc tires - and I love the fork lockout. Every recreational, multi-terrain fitness rider should consider this bike!

Wonderful ride and quite responsive. User friendly. I see plenty folks having an issue with the gears delaying...I haven't experienced that as yet...Hopefully I don't.
