2015 Trek Shift 4

Shift your thinking, shift your lifestyle and shift into fun with Trek's Shift 4. The Shift is the answer to people who think that riding may not be an option for them. A low, long design inspires confidence and gives you stability and control. The strong aluminum frame and durable components allow for riders up to 350 pounds. A comfortable bike is a ridden bike, so your Shift is equipped with an adjustable stem, upright bars, and a plush, supportive seat to allow the perfect position. If that wasn't enough, you have a suspension fork up front to smooth out any bumps in your path. Plus, this great bike sports 24 gears to top hills with ease and powerful linear-pull brakes for the ride back down. Heavy-duty wheels and puncture-resistant tires add peace of mind. Welcome back to riding, welcome back to the outdoors.

Comments:

All of these reviews are correct, this is an amazing bike. The ride is so smooth, I've never experienced anything like it. I ride for fun and fitness, I cannot wait my 20 mile ride each afternoon. I feel reborn each time! It is such a great workout, but I don't really notice while riding because it is SO fun. I ride mainly on bike trails and streets, and this bike chuckles at cracks and bumps on ill-kept Chicago roads. I'm 6'1" and over 300 pounds, no challenge for the Trek Shift 4. Even steep downhills and fast turns feel perfectly stable. The only complaint is a grinding in the crankshaft. I had it corrected at the dealer, but it's back. I guess I'll keep bringing it back whenever the grind rears it's ugly head, until the dealer gets sick enough to do a more permanent fix. Still worth it. Trek discontinued this model, and I cannot understand why. It must be that not enough big guys ride, so they don't sell enough. I feel like buying another before they're gone for when this one gets stolen. Rememeber, I'm in Chicago...

Comments:

I had been wanting to get outdoors more and change up my fitness plan. I figured biking around town instead of driving would be perfect for that. After test riding this Shift 4 and the Verve 2, it was a No Brainer. The ride on the Shift 4 was smooth and COMFORTABLE. I especially liked the riding position, which you can adjust to your needs. Been on a few 5 mile rides so far with the Wife and the bike is absolutely smooth and the gears are a plus! I was a little hesitant with the price, but it is definatly worth it.
