2015 Trek Stache 8
Fast. Agile. Confident. Capable. That sums up Trek's Stache 8 perfectly. This bike gets down to business with 29-inch wheels and a 120mm Fox Float fork that dares anything to get in your way. Trek loaded the Platinum aluminum frame with all the marks of a fully legit trail bike like G2 trail geometry, E2 tapered head tube, ISCG05 mounts, dropper-post routing and a 142x12mm rear end. That rear end is enhanced by super short chainstays that make it rip through berms, dominate twisty trails and out-accelerate your crew. SRAM's X1 cranks power a wide-ranging 1x11 drivetrain. Tubeless-ready Bontrager wheels with fat tires are your landing gear and the Bonty components are as light as they are tough. The hardtail is back.

This could be the perfect hardtail. Sure there are lighter bikes out there but that's not the game here. If you are looking for a great all-around'er you have found it! Great spec out of the box. Throw some pedals on it and go have fun.
On my first run on the stache 8 I knew this bike would be good. Thrilled about the climbing, excellent feel and steering, great trail bike. On the down hill sections I felt very confident. I can't give five stars due to tires! Packed full of mud and don't clean out easy..not a fan of Treks offering for tires. I'm on the fence about the SLX breaks and I don't like the levers they feel cheap IMO. Overall great bike. If your looking for a serious HT give the Stache a test run..
