Comments:

Im just getting back into mountain biking and after reading a ton of reviews online and some test riding i settled on the x cal 6. It was between this, a giant talon, and specialized rockhopper. Honestly they all felt the same on test rides so i went with the brand, but im glad i did. I dont know enough about my personal riding style or needs to justify spending big bucks on a mountain bike, but this is plenty of bike for a beginner or intermediate and at a decent price. The geometry is awesome, it climbs like a beast. Grips are garbage and the first/only thing i have replaced. Would recommend 10/10.

    Comments:

Although I wanted to get into a higher-end bike, my budget just couldn't support it. So, after months of research and visiting every bike store in Greenville, I ended up with an awesome X-Caliber 6. The staff at Trek Store Greenville, particularly Bennett, was helpful and non-salesy throughout the purchase process. In the months since buying, I've fallen in love with this X-Cal 6. It's proving more than capable of anything I've tried on it. I've also had the chance to ride my friends' Nashbar and Motobecane bikes and - I must say - the Trek geometry seems far superior. If you can get a higher end Trek, go for it. But if you need to settle in the X-Cal 6 range, I expect you'll be quite happy with your bike!

My bike splits its time 50/50 between paved trails and gravel roads. I've never been disappointed whether it's an afternoon on paved bike trails, riding around a campground for a weekend, or riding gravel logging roads on a hunting trip.

This bike delivers as promised, no false pretensions, I've taken it to the woods and through the city and it always behaves in a pro manner. The key is to have a correct FIT session, that way you may reap on all the advantages that this Lightweight but tough bike have to offer. maintenance and cleanup is a breeze between uses. Get rid of the handle grips and the pedals as soon as possible and upgrade them. The speed transitions are flawless and that is a huge PLUS! When you find deep into the woods. My fellow riders are believers, and are leaning towards TREK because of this affordable bike can cover so many needs.

I use this to ride around my neighborhood and for some mountain biking. It shifts and rides great on both surfaces, locking shocks is really nice for on the road. It is a HUGE upgrade from my old $300 mountain bike.

        Comments:

Just picked up a 2015 X cal 6 in Rhymes with orange, tossed the pedals it came with to a homeless man, threw on my 17 year old Shimano M747 pedals and put about 60 miles on it. So far I have zero complaints. I've taken her off concrete drops, steps, through singletrack, winding around downtown, I even ran it on a BMX course! Sram shifters and rear derail. are quick and accurate. The fork is the weakest link IMO, but with the lock out it is enough to keep an experienced rider rolling without too many gripes. Also, this is my first 29er, and I find all the talk of reduced agility/nimbleness is unfounded. I weave parking meters and college hipsters on fixies like a slalom. What I do notice is the added stability, the bike has more tendency to return to stable state when things get loose. Get some.

It will be my go to bike for easy rides on trails and road with kids. Wanted front suspension and 29er to replace a well used Trek 850, and this bike fits that need to a tee!
