2014 Trek X-Caliber 8 (Gary Fisher Collection)

Jump front wheel-first into the off-road world aboard Trek's X-Caliber 8. This sleek dirt-worthy bike starts with a lightweight Gold aluminum frame with Gary Fisher's proven G2 geometry. Complementing the sublime ride is a RockShox fork that gives you 100mm of travel to add even more cush and steering confidence to the big 29-inch wheels. Proven parts hang off the sweet frame and fork with Bontrager disc wheels with Shimano disc brakes. And, you also get the solid performance of SRAM shifting and the quality of Bontrager controls. It all adds up to a ride more than ready for the off-road world!

    Comments:

For around a grand, this bike is spec'd very well. I ride a variety of Pac NW XC trails full of roots, rocks, mud and sand and this bike handles everything I've thrown at it. I'd like to see a better fork and beefier wheelset, but what do want for $1000 price point? Great value.

    Comments:

I got this bike because I was having to work twice as hard on my Mongoose on the trails as my friends with Treks. I shopped around and found the X-Cal 8 to be the best bang for the buck! The components on the bike along with the lightweight amazing quality of Trek made this the obvious choice. When I got it, I could not believe the difference in quality and just riding overall. I was able to accelerate with ease and pedal up hills effortlessly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bike!
