RENTAL BENCH

Objective:

• The rental bench program at SBC is our attempt to facilitate the educational development of the cycling community.

Rate:

• Option 1: $7:00/hour charged at half hour increments.
• Option 2: $50.00 for a year membership.

Guidelines:

• The use of tools, rags, lubricants, cleaning supplies and books are for people using rental bench program only.
• Maximum time use on the bench is an hour, unless there is no one waiting then it is two hours. You may reserve a time slot for the rental bench anytime during business hours. If you are using the area when someone has a reservation we will ask you to stop and let him or her use the work area.
• You must leave proper I.D. before using the bench. You will receive it back after you are finished with the area and the tools and materials have been checked.
• Please try to figure out any questions you have on your own. There are numerous books and manuals; everything you need to know about bicycles is at your disposal. If you search and still have questions do not hesitate to ask. If we have to finish a job that you started you will be charge the regular rate for the entire job.
• Please leave the bench, tools and books in the clean orderly fashion you found them. The next user will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
• If you do not see a tool that you need let us know. Please do not use tools for jobs they were not designed for. If a tool does break let us know, we understand that nothing is indestructible. If we find that a tool broke due to improper use then you will be responsible for the replacement.
• This is a new system to the area but has proven successful in other cycling communities like Portland and San Francisco. We hope you enjoy working on your bicycle and please let us know if you have any suggestions.
