Fall Maintenance Clinic — A FOUR Part Series

#1 Preventative Maintenance

Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 6 PM – 8 PM

It’s that time of year! We’ll begin our four-part maintenance clinics with an introduction and ways to fix flat tires and general bike cleaning. Below are a few topics that will be covered during our Fall Maintenance Clinic #1:

  • How to properly wash a bike
  • How to remove and re-install wheels properly and confidently
  • How fix a flat

#2 Demystifying the Drivetrain

Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 6 PM – 8 PM


We will be diving into the big, sometimes scary monster that is the bicycle’s drivetrain.

Some say their car drives better when it’s clean. Well, factually your bike performs better when all of the moving parts are clean, healthy and properly adjusted. You’ll walk away with the confidence to properly diagnose and adjust your drivetrain in the field, city or wherever your bike takes you. Below are a few topics that will be covered:

  • In Depth Drivetrain Cleaning
  • How to adjust Limit Screws
  • How to ID Derailleur Alignment issues
  • Basic Derailleur Adjustments

#3 Bearings & Brakes

Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 6 PM – 8 PM

After a quick tire change refresher we will be diving into the serious yet often overlooked subject of Bearings and Brakes! Below are a few topics that will be covered:

  • Re-visit flat repair/tire changes
  • How to properly Identify Bearing feel, adjusting hub cones and headsets
  • How to Face brake pads and rims
  • Basic Disc Brake adjustment
  • Cleaning rotors and pads

#4 Road/Trailside Repair

Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 6 PM – 8 PM


We will cover repairs for common mechanicals that can happen during a ride, such as, flat changes and chain repairs. We’ll also be reviewing what has been covered this month. Below are a few topics that will be covered:

  • How to “boot” a tire
  • How to fix/replace Derailleur Hanger
  • Other tips & tricks!
